Local businesses show their support for schools

A dozen local businesses and two teachers have been awarded ‘Investors In The Future’ Certificates by the Chichester Education Business Partnership (EBP).

The awards were given to recognize their local commitment and dedication to Secondary Schools across the Chichester District.

The awards ceremony was held at Chichester District Council on Friday May 11 where both schools and businesses enjoyed the opportunity to hear about each other’s unique contributions and efforts in preparing young people for the world of work.

The businesses awarded with certificates were:

Two teachers also gained a special award: John Harding from Manhood Community College and Allan Blamire from Bishop Luffa CE School.

Mary Holder of the EBP said: “The businesses winning these awards have been nominated for support in various categories including Work Experience, Work Related Learning, Wider Curriculum support and Professional Development of teachers”

Mark Dunn, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to recognize the excellent partnership work that links schools, colleges and businesses together for the benefit of all.”
